SUMMARY:Encova/CAWV Associate Safety Program Webinar
DESCRIPTION:At this year's Annual Meeting held in July at The Greenbrier\, Lisa Teel\, assistant vice president of agency operations for Encova\, announced a new workers' compensation plan for CAWV members. Since 2008\, the CAWV and Encova have offered a discounted workers' comp plan for contractors\, which has saved CAWV members hundreds of thousands of dollars in premiums and provided services to keep job sites safe. The new program allows certain CAWV Associate Division members to receive a discount on their workers' comp premium. \n\n \n\nAssociate members are eligible for the discount if their operations require them to be on construction sites or perform work similar to construction. Effective September 1\, 2021\, select CAWV associate members whose policy effective date is on or after September 1 may participate in the program. Associate members whose business operations require them to work on the jobsite on a regular basis\, experiencing many of the same risks as the contractor members\, may now qualify to receive a policy premium discount. \n\n \n\nAn article on the program is included in the September/October 2021 issue of West Virginia Construction News.  The CAWV and Encova will host a free webinar on Thursday\, December 9 for associate members on the new program.
