The CAWV Young Contractors Forum (YCF) will host an educational kayak tour, as well as a project tour of the Forks of Coal Foundation’s new Claudia L. Workman Wildlife Education Center. This year’s event will start at 9:00 a.m. and will begin with a tour of the new wildlife education center that is still being constructed by CAWV member Wolf Creek Contracting Co. Members will meet for the project tour at the Coal River Group at 181 Pettigrew Lane, Tornado, WV 25177. Participants will be shuttled to the project, then taken to the launch point on the Coal River. The tour will conclude at the Coal River Group. The YCF and Coal River Group has partnered with the WVDEP to educate participants on recent stream restoration projects that were completed to improve water quality and habitat for fish and insects. The full day, including the project tour and kayak trip, will end by 5:00 p.m. and will include snacks and cold drinks. The cost of the approximately three-to-four-hour trip is $40 and includes kayaks, PPE, snacks and drinks
